FAQs
These FAQs are meant to answer any questions pertaining to our group sessions. If you have specific 1:1 coaching questions please inquire directly.
Where do we meet?
The location for each group in-person run will vary every few weeks, but will be held in the Beverly area. Coach Ashley will provide the location details in advance of each run.
When are the group rugs?
The Winter group runs will take place on Saturdays at 7:45am and Mondays at 6pm.
Is there parking?
Yes, the locations are selected with parking in mind.
I’m new at this - what if I am the slowest one in the group?
Pace doesn't matter here. All are welcome! If you are not ready to hit the ground running right away we will start you on a walk/run program. We will do our best to group participants based on their goals and Ashley will be there to guide the back of the pack :)
If a friend missed the start of the session, is it too late to sign up mid-session?
We will do our best to allow sign-ups after the kick-off on January 4th. This is all depending on current size of the group and will be determined by Ashley.
Will you be doing another session after the Winter?
Yes, the plan is currently to hold another session starting in March for Spring race prep. But winter is Ashley's favorite running weather :)
I'm nervous, can we chat prior?
Of course, Ashley is always willing to make herself accessible to new runners! Email her at dashcoaching978@gmail.com
What should I wear and what are the weather policies?
We will run outdoors each session. Ashley will only cancel if temps are below 12 degrees and/or if the roads are too icy for running.
If the temps are 30 or higher you can wear clothing you would wear to the gym like leggings and a long sleeve tech shirt. Feel free to wear layers, we will always warm up and you can ditch a layer before the workout begins. If temps are lower than 30 it will be key to have a pair of fleece lined leggings and and a fleece lined base layer. Ideally with some kind of vest. You will get very warm while running so you'll be surprised with how warm these fleece lined layers keep you. A hat and gloves are recommended under 30 degrees too. Ashley recommends against cotton during all 4 seasons as it absorbs sweat and weighs you down!
Can my kids come?
Unfortunately we cannot accept children at this time. As an RRCA insured group, our policy does not include runners under the age of 18 or children in strollers during our runs for the women's running group. As a local mom, Ashley also sees this as time to focus on your personal fitness - everyone deserves their mom time!
Can I run with headphones?
The RRCA maintains a long-standing guideline against the use of headphones in running events and group training runs. This is a safety precaution that is encouraged via dash women's running group.
